‘Avatar’ wins China over as Chinese Government forces theatre owners to uphold domestic movie quota

China’s government has a quota system that only allows 1/3 of it’s movies in the country to be from foreign sources. Theatre owners were recently reminded of this after the movie “Avatar” became the highest grossing film in China’s history.

As of 12 Jan 2010, the film had grossed about $103 million compared to a domestic movie called Confucious which earned $5.6 million on opening weekend

Other movies such as 2012 have crushed it in China raking in $67.3 million in December.

Another big movie in China was Transformers in 2009 which was also very successful.

The Chinese government believes that their theatre owners should support the “expansion and development of the domestic film industry” over selling seats in movie theatres.

China is also violating long time World Trade Organization agreements by restricting music, movie and book imports from countries such as the US.

The 3D experience offered by Avatar has captivated Chinese audiences. The movie’s plot is also a familiar tone to Chinese free-thinkers.

China has it’s own propaganda machine, producing movies such as “The Founding of a Republic” that was the box office leader until the release of 2012 this year.

China recently asked that the 2D version of Avatar be removed from Chinese theatres.

The reason for 2D screenings being scrapped in China is a little unclear.

Movie theatre operators have said they were ordered to pull the version, though Zhang Hongsen, deputy head of the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, denied that.

Why my 5 year old daughter cant stop bed wetting till now?

I am facing the problem of bed wetting by my daughter, is it a medical problem or any thing serious about her. she is doing it since her birth.

It’s NOT a medical problem, but it is very embarrassing, but there are ways to help your child.

Don’t get frustrated with her because it’ll only cause her to do it more. To stop her from bed wetting, you have to make her feel good about herself. Don’t punish her because it’ll make her feel ashamed and embarrassed. You can use a plastic sheet over the mattress to save time for cleaning up. And tell her that as a responsibility of wetting her bed, she needs to help clean it up. Also make sure that when she goes to bed, she’s relatively calm. Don’t try to make her go to bed when she’s excited and all because then she’s not concentrated on stopping herself when she wets the bed. And no drinks before bedtime. Another thing is to not lead your children to the bathroom at night. You have to teach them that they need to learn to take responsibility for their own body, so if they feel the urge, they need to go themselves. Make sure they get enough sleep, 8-10 hours, otherwise children may sleep so deeply trying to catch up on rest that they don’t feel the urge to go pee.

Anyways, it just takes patience and time, but these methods should work.

5)what can i do?

secret:secretly love diapers.i love wearing them all the time.but this is different.this is me needing the rather then wanting them:(

Your body might be tired from fighting the flu so this may be a reason. However you should talk to your doctor to make sure your kidney’s are not being affected due to your illness. Please don’t be afraid or embarrass that is what your doctor is for and beside your must assist him by giving him information even if you may think that its silly because it may be utmost important..
Don’t for get you snorkel gear lol just jokin w/ya ;-)

i have a child who wets the bed. i bought her the bed wetting alarm. I wondering if those sincerely works or?

and wondering if thoses really woks
she is 31 years old and bed wetting the bed i try limiting drinks and doc.

Scientific studies show that a bedwetting alarm is likely the most effective way of treating bedwetting, however it doesn’t work with every child. It is certainly worth trying. See how it goes for a couple weeks, and if you don’t see any progress its probably best to stop using it for everyone’s sake! It may be advisable to try it again in a year or so when your child has grown that much more.

Your additional info says that she is 31, so I am assuming this is a typo. How old is she?

Regardless of the age, the key thing is to make this a low stress as possible. Make your child realise that it isn’t a major catastrophy if she wets the bed, its not a big deal. Using a diaper of some sort, I have found, works well to reduce the impact of accidents, as they are contained to the diaper. Its much easier to wake up in a wet diaper than a bed that is completely soaked, so its less of a traumatic experience. Huggies has a product called Goodnites, which pull on and off like regular underwear, and can be used along with the alarm. They are a good idea because your child won’t need your help to change the diaper, and if she does wake up before peeing she will be able to easily pull them down to make it to the toilet.

If she is under 6 years old or so, its probably best to wait on any sort of intervention (including the alarm), as its a normal part of development for some kids. At this age its not much of an issue to them, and starting a treatment just brings more stress to their lives–You are better off just to put her in a regular diaper and let her grow out of it in her own time.

Let your child let you know what the next move is. If she is troubled by the accidents (and not simple scared she might get punished) its a good idea to take advantage of that motivation and try the alarm. Otherwise, play it cool and let her mature on her own.

What causes bed wetting??

I’m currently on Neurontin for nerve pain and Fioricet for headaches. I took both last night as prescribed. I wet the bed. It was so embarrasing. My boyfriend had to sleep on the couch because the bed was wet. I was wondering if these medications I’m on would cause bed wetting? Help! Please!

The urethra is a muscle that clenches when you sleep, making it so there is no bed wetting. If you are being treated for nerve pain,it’s likely that it is causing your muscles to relax, including the urethra, hence the bed wetting.
I’m not entirely sure about treatment. Try not to drink anything right before bed and you may have to wear something to protect your bed for a little while until you can train yourself out of this.
I’m so sorry, dear.

5 Red Flags That Can Delay or Kill a Home Sale

1. Underground oil tank or an old septic system.

Environmental issues can muck up a deal, especially in states with strict regulations. Underground oil tanks were popular in the Northeast at one time but are now considered a hazard because of potential leaks. Typically real estate agents suggest sellers remove tanks before putting the home on the market.

Septic regulations vary by municipality and some states such as Massachusetts require a system be inspected and meet strict standards before the home is sold. The repair or replacement can be expensive and time consuming so sellers should get the necessary approvals ahead of time. However, they should follow the timelines and dates required by their state and/or municipality.

2. A change in the terms of a mortgage.

Suddenly payments on a 15-year mortgage seem too high or high fees offset a low interest rate. Changing terms can restart the clock and delay a deal. By law, a lender is required to provide a good faith estimate of fees and rates within three days of receiving a mortgage application. Even if they are only being prequalified for a mortgage, potential buyers should ask for a good faith estimate so they understand fees and rates.

3. The lender is unknown to the real estate agents.

Delays in approvals, last minute changes in terms can snag a deal. Experienced agents at http://www.welcome2ky.com suggest having the buyers be pre-approved by a second lender, one both real estate agents work with and know can complete the work in a timely fashion. Then if a glitch comes up there will be a fall back.

4. Phone calls or e-mails are not returned.

Good communication speeds negotiations. When title companies don’t respond or when an agent dodges calls, it can slow down the process or be an indication of a brewing problem. Although there is no absolute solution, the best precaution is to be proactive.

If the seller is a bank, or the owner needs the bank’s approval (because the home is selling for less than the mortgage), the process can take much longer than a typical sale, and there is little real estate agents or buyers can do to hurry the process.

5. A property disclosure statement was left unsigned.

When buying Lexington real estate, The property disclosure informs buyers about any known problems or defects of the property and explains what sellers have done to repair or resolve them. The price offered by buyers should take the disclosure into account. Experienced real estate agents won’t allow sellers to agree to an offer until the buyer signs the statement.

Letterfrack Boys Graves

St Joseph’s Industrial School in Letterfrack remains the location of one of the most haunting images to emerge from Ireland’s 52 industrial schools. It is of small boys forced to run endlessly around a bare stone yard for hours in the wet and the cold, holding their sheets above their heads. These were the bed-wetters, and the idea was that they had to run until their sheets were dry. If they slowed or flagged, they were beaten. The problem, of course, was that in the persistent rain and mist of Connemara, the sheets just got wetter and heavier. But still the children were made to run for hours. This kind of warped, sadistic cruelty was the hallmark of Letterfrack.
