How can I help my son with his bed wetting?
My son is nearly 8 and is still wetting the bed at night time. I know that most children grow out of this and it fairly common among boys, but he is so embarrassed. I don’t make a huge deal about it and he doesn’t drink close to bedtime. Any suggestions on how to help him? I thought about buying an alarm he can wear to bed.
Don’t STRESS!!!! The fine muscles that run from the bladder to the urethra are some of the last to develop in boys. Our boys usually outgrow this at about age 9. Get night time underwear and let him take care of himself. As long as you aren’t having to deal with wet clothes/bedding you will be more relaxed about it and so will your good boy.

Is there a reason more boys wet their bed growing up then girls?
That’s an interesting question — I’ve read about this in many places also (actually about twice as many boys wet the bed after age 5 as girls, and this holds up for every age up through puberty), but have never seen anyone give an explanation as to why it is. The simpest explanation is probably just that boys’ bladders develop more slowly than girls’ do, which would make sense because the whole anatomy of that region is obviously different to begin with, and girls mature slightly faster than boys do in general. However, girls actually have more problems with leaking urine during the day than boys, probably because their urethras are shorter and they have fewer muscles available to help them hold the urine in (which also makes them more prone to urinary tract infections).
That’s just an educated guess though — I’m not sure if anyone knows for sure!

Bed Wetting Boy 5 and 1/2 years suggestions??
My son is going to be 6 in August and shows no signs of staying dry at night. I know this is not his fault and we have never made a big deal out of it, but recently his little sister who is four has been staying dry at night and it is starting to bother him! I have spoke to my doctor and he has offered to try medication, but in all honesty I am reluctant to medicate him since he is still so young. I have heard that this can be heriditary and my husband had problems as a little boy too until about 12 or 13 and he really worries since he knows what our son could go through. Does anyone have any suggestions as to whether you think medication is the answer or any good thoughts as to what I could do to try and help him without meds. We have tried waking him up before we go to bed, and limiting the fluid intake to a little drink before bed but nothing seems to help. Thanks in advance.
I did this when I was little too. My mom took me to the chiropractor, I don’t know what he did but it worked. Other than that you have to wait for his bladder to catch up to his size. I also have a nephew that does this and he’ll be 8 next month. My sister in law just got a good waterproof mattress cover and a bunch of different sheets for him.

Bed Wetting???
How Can I start wetting the bed, on purpose, im 13yrs old. and im a boy.
What??? what? what? I mean what or why would you wish to start wetting the bed on purpose? Do you know how many people had no choice in the matter and pray desperately to wake up in a dry bed in the AM. If you need attention then excel in something not wet yourself. Sheesh.
