SSBB SSE 14: At least he leads an interesting life!
Chapter 14: Just a normal day in the life of a Pokemon Trainer. You catch a squirtle, save what appears to be a boy with a huge head and a bed-wetting disorder, see a charizard, point to it on a card (Yea no sherlock! That’s a charizard!), meet a really fat, wierd guy bent on turning you into a trophy, and kick his using the ancient art of sitting in the backgrond yelling commands to a little blue thing you stuff inside a ball the size of your fist that shrinks to the size of your pinky finger, and to the little bed-wetting with mental powers. Yea. Good times… Gooooooood times…….
No that’s not me playing. I have to wait like the rest of the world for Brawl :’(. (more)

Bed wetting boy who’s getting stressed???
My son who will be 4 on fiday has started to wet the bed,I never had touble with this when i was training him. It isnt just at night he does it either, When or if he goes for a nap duing the day he will also do it, Things at home are fine and he is very popular in playschool and out playing at home. Whats really upsetting me other than the wetting is that when he has an accident he gets eally upset like as if he thinks im going to kill him. The poor thing has even askd me if he could stay at home from school incase he falls asleep and does it in there…..Please would ye have some advise on how to appoach this matter??. I have never had this problem with the other 4 of my kids.so im lost!!!!!!!!!!
i think sometimes it happens when they’re in a deep sleep, and just don’t realize it.
i had a brother with the same problem.
mom just changed the sheets when she had to, and didn’t complain.
eventually he grew out of it, although he was much older than 4.
unfortunately.
it’s probably not a good idea to stress him more.
i doubt that it’s a choice, in which case, he can’t choose to stop.
all of us knew about the problem, and, although we teased each other mercilessly, we didn’t tease him about this.
somehow we knew not to.
i’ve no idea why.
if his siblings are teasing them, you might talk to each one individually, not together, and explain that he’s really trying, but it appears that he’s just so sound asleep that he can’t.
it’s interesting.
i just thought of this.
while we’re sleeping, there’s a nerve connection that disables muscles, so that when we dream, we don’t thrash around in bed.
if i had to guess, this is related to that part of the nervous system.
but this really is just a guess.

how do you stop an 11 year old boy from bed-wetting at night?
my brother do it everyday. it smells so bad i will throw up.
please help!
You cannot stop a person from wetting the bed. I know, I wet the bed until I was past 15 and was in diapers every night until I could stay dry. Yes he need to go to the doctor to see if there is anything medically wrong. With me there was nothing wrong so it just took time, with your bro if there is nothing wrong, he needs to wear a diaper at night which will save the bedding and he wont wake up in nasty pajamas.

What should I do about my sons bed wetting?
My oldest son out of the three boys i have started wetting the bed. He is 14. We already went to the doctors and he said it will pass in a couple of months. But it has been over three months since he said that and now i am thinking of buying my son diapers. I dont know if he would like it but it is the only way to keep things dry. So should i get him diapers and if so what kind and what brand? Also if i should make him wear diapers how should i ask him to wear them? Please help!
You should NOT "make" him wear diapers, but you should have a frank and open discussion of how you and he are going to manage the problem for as long as it is still going on. Certainly it is reasonable for you to want to keep his mattress (at minimum) from getting wet, and so he should have a plastic mattress cover on his bed, if he doesn’t already. Beyond that, ask him if he would rather wear some sort of "protective underwear" (don’t call it a diaper, it isn’t really the same thing anyway) to sleep to help keep the sheets dry… or if he would rather wash his sheets in the laundry every morning when it happens. If he is willing to do his own laundry (NOT as a punishment, just as a means of allowing him to help manage his own problem), then there is no reason in the world why he should have to wear a diaper. As long as the mattress is protected and he bathes or showers in the morning to get the urine off his skin, there is absolutely no harm done by having him wash the sheets, and it also gives him a measure of privacy in dealing with his own problem.
If he isn’t willing to help with washing the sheets… then I think it would be reasonable to ask him to wear something in order to reduce the amount of laundry that needs to be done. Even then, you should make clear to him that it is NOT a punishment for wetting the bed (which he can’t help, and therefore should not be punished for!) but simply a means of reducing the burden of laundry his problem creates (since he isn’t willing to help do it). Do some homework, then take him to the store (or show him pictures online, if that’s how you prefer to shop) and let him decide what type of protection he is most willing to wear. The more you allow his input and cooperation in the whole process, the less likely this is to become a lasting issue between you… and the less stressful the situation will be for the both of you, which will also be a good thing in helping his body to stop wetting the bed in the long run.
Do most 14 year old boys wet the bed?
My son has not had any problems with bed wetting until last night. He just woke up wet. He said he had no dream, he had his normal amount of fluid intake, and told me he has had no stress in school lately. He just wet his bed last night. By the way bed wetting does not run in my family or my wifes family. I’m not mad at him just curious.
i remember a long time ago i had a dream(not a "wet") that i went to the bathroom and i woke up in wet. maybe thats what happened. He may have dreamt it and not have known it.

Letterfrack Boys Graves
St Joseph’s Industrial School in Letterfrack remains the location of one of the most haunting images to emerge from Ireland’s 52 industrial schools. It is of small boys forced to run endlessly around a bare stone yard for hours in the wet and the cold, holding their sheets above their heads. These were the bed-wetters, and the idea was that they had to run until their sheets were dry. If they slowed or flagged, they were beaten. The problem, of course, was that in the persistent rain and mist of Connemara, the sheets just got wetter and heavier. But still the children were made to run for hours. This kind of warped, sadistic cruelty was the hallmark of Letterfrack.
